Hi to all our Guests, family and Friends,
The nail biting & anxious waiting is finally over . . . as we spring into Spring in the Karoo.
KAROO VIEW COTTAGES Congratulates Sabie & Lady Grey for taking 1st & 2nd place in the Dorp van die Jaar 2012 competition and PRINCE ALBERT for coming in 3rd out of 9 WELL DONE TO ALL! ! !
Richard & Julie would like to thank each & everyone who participated and showing their support by voting, many of whom sent 10, 20 & 30 sms’s, & even though Prince Albert did not come out “Tops” in the voting we have decided to go ahead with our 3rd Karoo View Lucky Draw “3 night’s accommodation for 2” to show our appreciation to all of you who voted and because we know that Prince Albert is the best. A Big Big Thank you!

And the Lucky Winners were. MARTIE & ROUAN BESTER from Kuilsrivier
Who had 30 tickets in our lucky draw Well Done & Thank You. We look forward to welcoming you back to Prince Albert & Karoo View Cottages.
For interest the final results were as follows:
Sabie: 71 902 , Lady Grey: 64 677, Prins Albert: 62 759, Clarens: 49 184, Walvisbaai: 47 643, Schweizer-Reneke: 14 680, Hoedspruit: 11 794, St. Lucia: 8 006, Kathu: 7 386.
These figures are absolutely amazing (Last year De Rust won with only 39 000 votes) but you will see that Prince Albert was only just behind Lady Grey – ahhh such a pity, as we all know that Prince Albert is THE BEST DORP IN THE LAND With such a diversity of “offerings” for everyone, young & old, big & small. Also remember that Prince Albert is celebrating 250 years And each month Prince Albert continues to offer loads of different activities for all. So why not plan a few days away to come & join in the fun As the Karoo comes alive in a blaze of colour.
Our winter rains have continued, as has the cold, but thank goodness for our log fireplaces in our house and cottages, which have kept us all snug as bugs, but the good news is that Spring has Sprung and our natural Koppie is coming alive. Each and every day we awake to a new delight! The purple haze of the different fygies, the yellows and oranges of the Namaqualand daisy’s and other veld flowers are now showing their magnificent faces and even though our Aloe Ferox’s are still blooming, our other aloes are now beginning to show their flowers.
